The Boeing KC-97 Stratotanker is a flying tanker based on the Boeing C-97 aircraft. In the years 1950-1958, 811 copies were produced. The KC-97 played a significant role in the USAAF doctrine of the 1950s, as they allowed for a significant extension of combat patrols for B-47 Stratojet aircraft. The KC-97G model was the most widely produced version.
