In the 1986 film Top Gun the MIG-28 was portrayed as the antagonistic aircraft that faced F-14 Tomcat fighters piloted by the main characters. Despite having no real-world equivalent, the MIG-28 gained popularity thanks to the movie Top Gun and has become an iconic part of pop culture. However, film fiction contains a grain of truth!
