SS Alaska belongs to the US Navy Alaska class Battle cruiser first ship, service on June 17, 1944, total length246.43 m, displacement34253 tons, 150000 horsepower, maximum speed32 knots. At a speed of 15 knots, its range is 12000 nautical miles. After the completion of the Alaska class battle cruiser mainly along with Mitchell’s fleet aircraft carriers, as the cruiser squadron flagship, and provide protection for an aircraft carrier. At the end Japanese naval and air forces near destruction, participated in the bombardment fleet bombarded Japanese natives.
