The Beriew Be-200 Altair is a Russian all-metal high-wing flying boat. The drive is provided by two Progres turbofan engines D-436TP. The prototype flight took place in 1998, and the first machines entered service in 2003. So far, about 15 machines of this type have been built. Serial production continues. The plane does not have a permanent armament.

Beriew Be-200 Altair was created on the basis of another machine of this company – the Be-42 plane. Originally, it was to be a purely civilian machine, capable of patrol, transport, passenger transport and firefighting tasks. However, in 2013, the Russian Ministry of Defense expressed a desire to acquire several machines of this type and adapt them to the needs of the armed forces. Two main variants of the Be-200 were created. The first one is designated as Be-200 and is considered the basic production version. A version of the Be-200ES was also created, which is used as a transport and firefighting machine. Further versions are also planned: Be-200RR (machine with Rolls-Royce engines), Be-210 (improved passenger version) and Be-220 (military version, intended for patrols and most likely ZOP operations). At present, the Be-200 is used by Russia, the PRC and Azerbaijan.
